Shop the Design: A Moody Transitional Primary Bedroom

There’s nothing quite like the comfort of a cozy bedroom to help us relax and unwind after a long day. Your bedroom is your sanctuary and should exude warmth and comfort while showcasing your style. We love adding a bit of moodiness to our designs, so we wanted to share a moody transitional primary bedroom - all available over in the DITD shop! This design features deep charcoal hues, a ton of texture, and a mix of modern and traditional elements.

Moody Paint: The key to mastering a moody transitional bedroom design is to paint your room with a deep moody hue. We used a charcoal paint color with green undertones for this design. You can paint the walls this color or the walls, moldings, and ceilings for a color-drenched look.

Upholstered Bed: An upholstered bed is a great way to add texture and coziness to your bedroom. We love the way the light grey looks against the moody paint color. This bed looks great with classic white bedding and some neutral throw pillows. We added an olive green throw to add more moody color to the design.

Modern Wood Nightstands & Dresser: A modern wood nightstand adds warmth and texture to the room but contrasts beautifully with the charcoal walls. We love the modern diamond carvings on these nightstands. We styled the nightstands with texture lamps, neutral books, a candle, and a brass bud vase. To contrast the wood nightstands, we opted for a black dresser styled with a classic round mirror, a white ceramic vase, and some cane boxes.

White Accent Chair & Textured Bench: We added a transitional white accent chair to provide a place to relax and read while adding a touch of brightness to the room. We placed a brass metal side table beside it for books or other personal items. We also placed a woven bench at the foot of the bed to add texture to the room.

Vintage Rug: To pull the room together, we added a vintage-style rug with a light, neutral color palette. A traditional style rug is a great way to make a room feel timeless.

Creating a moody transitional bedroom is all about adding moody colors, texture, contrast, and warmth. The charcoal paint color with green undertones sets the tone for the rest of the design, while the furniture and accessories complete this cozy space. With this design, your primary bedroom will be transformed into an elevated space where you can relax after long days. Head over to the DITD Shop to shop this design!
