The dining room is the heart of the home, and for those who love classic design with a modern twist, this design is for you. A modern classic dining room reflects the perfect synthesis between timeless elegance with some modern elements to give it an edge. We have put together a ready-to-shop design to help you create a stunning and functional modern classic dining room that you will love for years.
Table: The centerpiece for a modern classic dining room is undoubtedly the dining table. For our design, we have chosen a traditional wood dining table that seats ten. The table's wood grain and warm finish add a touch of timeless elegance and character to the space.
Chairs: To complement the traditional dining table, we have included two white linen slipcover chairs. These chairs blend seamlessly with the traditional table. We also brought in additional mixed-metal dining chairs for a modern twist.
Lighting: No dining room is complete without the right lighting. To keep the contemporary feel going, we opted for a pendant light that is a modern take on a traditional oil lamp. The black fixture, with a touch of brass, elevates the room and pairs perfectly with the mixed-metal chairs.
Sideboard: A black metal sideboard is the perfect addition to this modern classic dining room. It can be used to store your dinnerware, table linens, and silverware. The sideboard's black metal finish compliments the mixed-metal dining chairs while contrasting the wood table and linen chairs for a balanced look.
Area Rug: To complete the design, we added a vintage-inspired taupe area rug. The rug's neutral color complements the wood table and adds character and warmth to the space.
Styling: We styled the table with a large vase and some candlestick holders. We styled the sideboard with a cream vase, a cream lamp, some books, a brass bowl, and wooden links. We also hung a large piece of textured art above the console.
