Welcome to your February 2023 lifestyle edit! I’ve carefully curated food, drink, and event suggestions for you. My picks? Volanti Restaurant for a fun experience, blackberry-infused beverages perfect for Valentine's day, and some events associated with the Waste Management Open and Super Bowl! So if you're local to Arizona or planning to visit, here's your guide through this month's must-do's & see's!
This restaurant feature is all about the experience! At Volanti Restaurant, we were greeted with the sight of airplanes taking off and touching down through the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows! Whether you choose to watch the planes from inside the restaurant or the terrace, their ambiance was relaxed and fun with a view of the runway and Mcdowell Mountains.
The variety of food was just as impressive! Volanti had options for all kinds of eaters. The vegetarian mushroom bruschetta and the vegan tamale were both incredible, and the hundred-dollar hamburger is definitely a must. Yes! You read that correctly, the hundred-dollar hamburger! This is a total experience of its own. This burger is delivered in a Veuve package, served with a caviar aioli on the side, truffle fries, and a bottle of the Veuve 375 split! On top of it, the meal is presented to you with a lit sparkler in a Veuve bottle! It is a truly special experience, and in my opinion, the perfect Valentine's day treat.
Valentine’s Day is for pink drinks! We have a cocktail and mocktail for you this month! Obsessed with these Blackberry-infused beverages! They are both so refreshing and pretty!
Fitting for V-Day, but tasty any day — pin these recipes to access the recipe anytime! 😍
We have some big events taking place in the valley this month!!! The Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Super Bowl, are both packed full of fun events for multiple days!
Waste Management Phoenix Open
The Waste Management Phoenix Open, also known as the People's Open brings a crowd for more than golf lovers. There are many opportunities for entertainment with the golf tournament including Coors Light Birds Nest and the Concert in the Coliseum! The event kicks off with Concert in the Coliseum on Saturday, February 4th at TPC Scottsdale with performances by Maroon 5 and Walker Hayes.
The Golf portion starts Monday, February 6th, and runs through Sunday, February 12th, and annually brings golf's biggest names. This year, players include Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, Max Homa, Tommy Fleetwood, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, and Sam Burns.
The after-hours entertainment at Coors Light Birds Nest is a four-day concert series held at Scottsdale Sports Complex starting February 8th. The lineup is impressive:
Performances start with Dustin Lynch, Lainey Wilson, and Chris Lane Wednesday, February 8.
My favorite, Country star Jason Aldean with special guest Mackenzie Porter will perform on Thursday, February 9
Machine Gun Kelly will headline Friday, February 10.
‘The Chainsmokers’ will close out the Coors Light Birds Nest concert series during the 2023 Waste Management Phoenix Open.
The Super Bowl Experience is a fun event for the entire family! This free outdoor event is at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix on Thursday, Feb. 9, and runs through Super Bowl weekend. The Super Bowl Experience includes family-friendly games and local food vendors. Additionally, there will be live music performances by Jimmy Eat World on Thursday and Lee Brice on Friday.
Whether you’re a Phoenix or Scottsdale local or planning to visit Arizona, my restaurant and event suggestions are sure to give you an unforgettable experience! Stay tuned for my March picks coming soon!
